Second unpopular opinion of the day

I think Joe Ngata and Frank Ladson will do more than “pick up the slack” of Higgins and Ross not being on the field this year.
247 said in their article that we won’t be better than last year, I think after week 6 people will only be hyping how dominate that duo is mixed with the consistency of ETN and Rodgers.

They drop passes too much.
I think the freshman coming on the DL should be pretty impactful by the playoffs though.

Not so sure what the other unpopular opinion was, but this one works for me.

This is what we are all hoping for. The concerning part is we need both guys to go from spot-time backups to full-time productive starters as sophomores. They are both clearly talented and athletic enough but we know from examples like XT things don't always work out as they should.
I'm willing to bet one of them does break out.

names at WR in the past. None of them look like a young Hopkins, Watkins, William, or Higgins to me for example.
I am also concerned a little bit with our OL but no one else seems to be. Am I missing something here?

I'm also concerned at OL but comments from Dabo from spring practice indicate the starters are solid. The problem is building quality depth among the youngsters, which will take some time.
I agree with you on Ngata and Ladson. They are gifted but didn't demonstrate the "sizzle" that makes you salivate about the future. Dabo specifically said Ladson never fully recovered from his minor knee surgery even though he played.
One thing you must admit about Ngata: His body is incredible, as in Mike Williams incredible. We just don't know if he has the mentality to dominate opponents every chance he gets. Perhaps he can shift into a higher gear knowing two All-Americans aren't in front of him.

The coaches saw flashes and compared Ngata to Watkins. Both were 5* so they aren’t no names. I think they’ll shock some people this year.

XT had a lot going on behind the scenes last year. It’s not exactly public so I won’t be the one to do so but do expect he plays to his potential this year.

I can see EJ Williams. His speed and refinement were pleasant surprises during spring practice and suggest a high upside at the college level.
However, Ajou is so raw. Has he even played football for that long? IMO, he is a project who might have red-shirted if Ross were playing. He is a true physical freak though.

Powell isn't that good. I thought TJ Chase was better than him but got way less playing time. Spector sure but who knows.
With Ngata and Ladson, we have seen glimpses of brilliance from them but they haven't had the playing time to gel. They will this year and that will be seen.

I would categorize this as a popular, or at least hopeful, opinion and I hope its spot on.
