I read that they self-imposed 12 scholarship reductions but I’m not sure over what period of time. I think they also reduced the number of official visits.

Now that is funny! After the NCAA walked out of Alabama when the Mike DuBose tenure was under investigation saying they had the most evidence they’ve ever collected, then slapped them on the wrist; they lost all credibility. They will do absolutely nothing regardless of what they find. It is a spineless organization that has no good reason to continue to exist.

Football needs some sort of oversight with consequences for cheating but not sure what that is. If they got some sort of commissioner it would be like everything else as soon as they did something that was disagreeable someone would organize a coup to get them ousted.

They had 21 scholarships taken away, that's hardly what I consider a slap on the wrist. Those schollies hurt!

They are not going to self impose penalties on themselves because the NCAA is going to look the other way. They are in the SEC and have bought the NCAA.

NCAA as the "bad guys", who may come in and levy punishment that was undeserved. Nothing could be further from the truth. When your Head Coach AND HIS WIFE are directly paying players and families of players, that's about as involved as a University Football Program can be. While Tennessee may have done a good job of pretending to fall on the sword, they should still have to fall on it for real. Their firing of Pruitt is something that would have had to happen whether it was they who caught him cheating, or if it was the NCAA.
Unless you are North Carolina Basketball or Auburn Football, you don't normally get a free pass from the NCAA for your transgressions.
