Look at his numbers against the only top-50 defenses (Clemson & UF) he faced all year, and that'll tell you.

No he just an average quarterback who got a lot of hype because he is Bobby Bentley's son. 2ND he plays for usuck elite level talent don't play losers.

He was an elite talent coming out of high school. He's the highest rated QB ever to commit to South Carolina and he was higher rated than anybody on our roster other than Hunter Johnson.
He's a more talented version of Conner Shaw. His junior and senior years will be their next legitimate chances to beat us if they can build a decent offensive line.

That is a ridiculous exaggeration. Stephen Garcia was the #4 ranked QB and an overall top 100 prospect by Rivals. Bentley was the 12th ranked QB and unranked overall nationally by Rivals.

He is good at 10 yard passes. That's about it. He carries his father's name which is why he has so much hype. He does not live up to the hype. Maybe one day, but not today.

He does plays behind a terrible offensive line though.
They gave up 41 sacks in 13 games. Clemson gave up 20 in 15 games.

At least some percentage has to fall on the QB. Not disputing that SCar has a bad o-line. But good QBs work with what they're given.

Obviously you cited it, so you didn't make it up. But, this is deeply flawed. 247 claims their index is proprietary so you can't fact check them. But Garcia was higher ranked by Rivals, Scout, and ESPN. Considerably so. This is basically hard proof that the 247 composite is complete bs.

It amazes me how they've just totally thrown Mcillwain to the curb....
He was thrown in as a true freshman behind a terrible offensive line and no playmakers around him. Bentley comes in with no pressure and plays well against subpar competition and now they're saying he should just play baseball.
