Very, very good news. Ngata is a freak

Yes

and No.

That's his game. He's really big and physical, freshman or not,

Aug 21, 2019, 7:22 AM

so it's not surprising. He weighed in at nearly 220 lbs and hes going up against 190 lb CBs.

Not good

It's AWESOME!

If this is our best back 7 ever and Ngata can't be stopped, we have a superstar in the making. He sure did show out in the spring game. Kid is ridiculous

I mean lets look into this a little more. I cant imagine he was man handling Terrell or Booth. I guess point being, without knowing exactly the situation, we have DBs ranging from clueless true freshman to first round pick. I'd imagine if he was pushing around our starting DBs, the coaching staff would have been more careful with the wording.

That wont be good for us against TAMU especially with that Rodgers kid from last year. He is pretty stout as well and experienced.

I'd say it is good we got him instead of possibly having to

Aug 21, 2019, 8:25 AM

play against him!

Oh, and Iron sharpens Iron. All involved players will benefit from this.

I think it lends the notion that Ngata is just that good. There are two primary things I consider :

1. Our coaching staff is pretty conservative when it comes to heaping praise on our players, particularly ones that just arrived on campus and haven’t yet been seasoned with the tough love, you gotta earn everything you get around here. In fact they’re pretty stingy when it comes to doling our accolades. They really good at keeping our players grounded.

2. The defensive backs he’s practicing against aren’t just overhyped “SEC caliber” atheletes that can’t live up to the cool nicknames they give themselves. These are athletes who were better vetted during the recruitment process and have received better coaching than anywhere else in college football.

Freshmen or not he's 6-4 220 lbs.... another plus is that we don't have to face him in games.
