Is it a foregone conclusion we beat ND?

Dec 6, 2020, 2:42 PM

Even with Trevor back? I just feel like we are missing several key pieces to our team this year. I hope I’m wrong and remain cautiously optimistic, but I feel as if this team is missing the “it” factor this year.

No, it'll be a dog fight. I think we need Davis and Skalski at 100% to win the game.

BV will keep us in the game. He doesn’t need generational talent to win

Dec 6, 2020, 2:50 PM

...but Offense, who knows? It’s just sad that our offensive brainpower can’t scheme enough to get TL16 the Heisman in his 3 years here.

It’s interesting how often this subject comes up still to this day. Dabo isn’t going to cater to an individual award ever. He’s always going to pull starters when the game is in hand. The other candidates play in systems where they start and finish the games no matter the circumstances. That’s why Tua almost got killed last year.

Well, the good news is that Syracuse rolled up 414 yards

of offense on ND yesterday in South Bend. We rolled up 473 yards of offense on ND at South Bend with DJ. in November.

You mean how we scored 40 points against them the first time, had a 7 point lead needing only one stop twice, and still lost the game?

Also, I know the defense struggled late in that game due to injuries. I just find it interesting how BV gets a pass for injuries, but Elliott was missing 3 of his top 4 receivers, a starting OL, and his starting Quarterback and still managed to put up 40 points on the road against a top 5 team, and he’s somehow the problem?

Foregone conclusion? Of course not.

My guess is the vegas line will be Clemson favored by about 5 points. ND has a very good chance.

I would guess 8.5 at time of kickoff. I’m not touching it either way hope both teams come out healthy and ready to beat Ohio State and Alabama

We'd better hope our players and........

coaches don't think it's a "foregone conclusion". That will be the surest way for us to lose. We've got to play like an underdog with something to prove.

We aren’t underdogs?
I would think ND would be favored, considering they’ve already beaten us once and are higher ranked.

The narrative is that we had enough starters out that it swung the game. Hopefully true, but who knows. But that's why we'll likely be favored.

Book running will be a problem. We seem to be lacking there.

ND only beat Louisville by 2 TD's. They looked bad against a very weak Syracuse team. The game is in Charlotte. So I figure we will be favored.

Healthy.

We could whip them if we get pressure and execute on offense.

I’m going to throw in my 2 cents based on 4 1/2 decades of viewing. There are no foregone conclusions in CFB. That is all.

If it is, some people better be taking off some Orange

Dec 7, 2020, 8:34 AM

Colored glasses. QB play by DJ alone was good enough to have won us that first game. Trevor will have to be on point to have a better game this time around. So, that being said, the DEFENSE will be the key for us to win the game. And, once again, we are now just hoping and praying that we have most of our personnel back from injury on that side of the ball. If not, the result is ANYTHING but assured in our favor.
