IPTAY Bowl Tickets, Seriously?

How long does it take to figure out who gets tickets and who doesn't from those that requested?
If you have 5,000 tickets available and requests for 8,000 of the tickets, wouldn't you be able to determine within 30 minutes who are getting tickets and who are not? Computers are magical things and based on priority points and such, those darn computers would be able to figure this algorithm out pretty quick.
It's been seven days since the requests were due and four days since the announcement was made. I'm not expecting to know that I have seats 32 and 34, just whether if I need to go buy my own ticket or not from another outlet.
Rumors of IPTAY allowing people with some extra cash that missed last Thursday's deadline to jump in line in front of those that met the deadline may be true and this delayed response only fuels the speculation and rumors.

They have already told everyone. They emailed on Sun and said how many you get based on points. Anyone with 16 pts or more get at least 2

and does not guarantee anyone within those point levels that they will receive tickets - per email from IPTAY ticket office on Tuesday.

Do you have at least 16 points? If so, you get "at least a pair of tickets". Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Does anyone know about ticket availability for the Natty, since I did not request Sugar Bowl tickets, but did request 2 for the Natty in Atlanta?

If you know your Priority Points level and it's over 16, then you got at least 2 tickets.

This is not actually true. I was under same assumption but since my card hadn’t been charged I was worried my application didn’t go through.
Talked to iptay yesterday. Those brackets are simply the max number you could possibly get. I’m well within the range for 2 so I asked if I’m gauranteed at least 2. He told me NO it’s not gauranteed just that I’d definitely not be getting more than 2.

When I called IPTAY early this week they said that I will be getting 2 tickets and card should be charged next week. Was very easy.

After accounting for staff, band and player-guest tickets, we’ll distribute 10,000 tickets to IPTAY donors. Fans wishing to purchase tickets who either did not meet the request deadline or have fewer than 16 total points can utilize the Sugar Bowl Ticket Exchange through TicketMaster. "

and I can tell you, of the two dozen or so IPTAY members who walked-in the door either wanting tickets or to get more than they originally ordered, the answer for all of them was the same; NO !!!
