Interesting data from Oklahoma

So many people wonder about vaccines versus natural immunity. Well here are some numbers.

They show natural immunity and vaccine immunity both decrease over time. Now this just tracks "infections" and doesn't take severe cases or other factors into account. But it's interesting.

If you had covid in the past in Oklahoma you had a 1% chance at reinfections in September. If you had a vaccine in Oklahoma you had a .5% chance of getting infected. Now that doesn't mean the vaccines are necessarily better because it also does not take into account the percentage of people who had recovered from covid plus took the vaccine, which may give you added protection.

One thing is clear though. Immunity decreases over time, vaccine or natural.

Those are interesting stats. I also wonder if those who chose to be vaccinated tend to remain more cautious than those who haven't been vaxxed, although the contrary could be true. Day to day habits continue to play a role in one's risk of infection.

Your point is well taken though. Immunity wanes regardless, so COVID is far from being in our rear view mirror.
