The Caldwell Chronicles: Offensive line coach sees versatility and depth this season

Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell feels like he has more options and more depth than he has had during his eight-year career at Clemson. With senior left tackle Mitch Hyatt returning to anchor a veteran unit and several up and coming lineman, Caldwell is confident heading into the 2018 football season. Full Story »

Good to hear of the improvement in the big guys. They go a long way in determining who wins ....and who doesn’t!
I promise, they will be better than they were in the last game played

Wait a minute....I thought we weren't supposed to talk about how players needed to improve. They made it to the playoffs...look what they accomplished. That should be enough. ^_^

Getting strong through weight lifting and agility training is very important for an offensive lineman. They usually don't have to move far from where the ball is put into play, and their balance and strength is their best friend for doing the job that has to be done in the running and passing game. Those guy need to be able to move guys out of the way by pushing them to the ground or put them to back peddling. The weight pile and their balance through agility training is most important for an offensive lineman!!!

We need MAJOR improvement from these guys this year to have a chance to make to Santa Clara and WIN.

Bama shoved them around like a wet mop in NOLA.

I read a week ago (maybe it was Jeff Scott) but Carmen has lost 20lbs of fat. He's in getting in really good shape.

Makes you realize how good Mitch was to come in, and start immediately.

OL has to be the toughest position for a freshman to contribute.

Not really. After watching the Spring Game, it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't in the 2 deep to start the season. He is just going to be a true frosh, needs to lose weight, and you can just that he needs a bunch of work. That doesn't mean he won't ne awesome by sophomore year or even later in the season.

Talk's Cheap

Prove it on the field against Alabama Mr. Caldwell.

Very encouraging

I have no doubt the last game left a bad taste in their mouth.

First priority is get stronger and hopefully develop little more of a mean streak.

They were not beaten from a scheme standpoint vs Bama most of the night, but a toughness one. The RB's didn't help either with several critical missed blocks.

I have no doubt we're going to see one of our strongest & toughest O Line groups of the last 10 years with 3 returning starters and LOTS of really good depth.
