I keep seeing criticism of DJ for returning to DV without WR

Nobody is criticizing the WR's or coaching staff for not going with DJ. They just want to make it into people having personal problems with him. Maybe he just figured they had other things to do and didn't ask. It's amazing that some many people can go out of their way to find fault with someone putting some extra work in.

with other players I believe, as it would constitute practice time, of which they are limited by rule to 20 hours per week including meetings and video time

I hadn't thought about it and you are probably right in regards to the coaches. I don't think it would be the case for players going out there with him, but I still don't understand the criticism.

The issue is that he's not going to learn a #### thing throwing to a student trainer. That's not who he's out of sync with during games.

Practice dropping back setting up and throwing with the proper rhythm can't hurt. Practice makes permanent. Practicing proper technique makes perfect!

I'm saying that it did a lot of good, but my take is that he was frustrated with his performance and wanted to do something. When I was young and didn't shoot the basketball well, I would go home, set up a spot light and shoot. I couldn't see well, didn't have a defender or even pretend like there was somebody there. I just shot to be with my thoughts.
I don't think that he is concerned with the appearance, so I don't see this being a premeditated publicity stunt. Whether it did any good or not, why should he be criticized for doing it?

It just blows my mind how many grown as people bash and belittle these kids cause there not perfect but strive to wanna be. Just f**king sad

but aren’t willing to question the coaches who are paid significant amounts of money to make us champions (and are failing miserably this year).

I had been slow to question the coaches, but that has begun to change. I believe they have made some mistakes, but I think that many of them were not foreseen and the coaches would agree they were mistakes in hindsight. However, we seem to be doing a lot of the same things expecting the outcome to change. I hope that it is just my perception and not the actual case.
