In 2020 the UGA Defense gave up

21 points to Tenn, 41 points to Bama, 44 points to Florida, 24 ponts to Miss St, 16 points to sCAR, and 21 points to Cincy. And UGA's Defense had 5-6 returning starters this year.
Give UGA their props as a top Defense, but do not buy into the hyperbole that Clemson's Offense faced an impenetrable barrier. Some SEC schools will slice and dice the UGA defense, and eSECpn will highlight how each SEC team scores against UGA (vs. Clemson's 3 points) as Clemson plays SC State, Ga T, BC, Syracuse, Louisville, UConn, Wake and sCAR.
There's a path to make the playoffs, but it will depend on a lot of teams from other conferences losing. The Clemson program will be under weekly duress from media outlets & reporters favoring Notre Dame, B1G, Pac 12, two SEC schools, and ABC (anyone but Clemson).
The UGA loss matters much less than the Offense not showing up. And there is no team on the Clemson schedule that matters.
But the Defense is special. Keep digging.

Ga's offense was always in question. Clemson's was not. DJ was suppose to put up 50 with ease. The reason it did not was Georgia's Defense living in the Tiger's backfield and our Secondary shutting down all those great receivers while holding you to 2 yards rushing. The rason your offense didn't show up was because the Georgia Defense did.

and props you your Defense. But do Dawgs see this 2021 Defense as better than your 2020 Defense when even outstanding Nolan Smith could not crack starting lineup?
My take is SEC Offenses will score much more than the 3 points Clemson scored.

Congrats on the win, but don’t get all fluffy inside. Like ours, your offense scored 3 points, and our defense was on the field all night allowing your offense to be on the field all night, yet they only scored 3 points. You won that game, for sure, but there was not much to write home about. We knew we had a lousy offensive line, but you may have discovered something lacking with yours, too, or is little old Clemson’s defense really pretty stout? Stay tuned. Now scurry on back over to a ga board.

Remember, UGA was missing a bunch of players on offense. Which as I recall, was one of the many reasons Clemson was going to win by double digits.

Wow, if our defense is special (and I think they can be) how can you not think Georgia's is special. Both defenses controlled the game from the start and we only got 3 yards per play while they got only 4.2 yards per play.

I believe UGA's D is outstanding. I also believed Elliott, Streeter and Dabo did a horrific job readying DJ mentally and with play calls.
My point is, with respects to a strong UGA D, Clemson Offense did not show up. And I read that DJ was instructed not to run. True? It looked like it.
TL16 wins the game 24-10, but I do not point the finger at DJ5 who regressed only for this game due to Clemson coaching, game plan and nerves. DJ will be back.
