4 or 5 star ?
Oct 8, 2021, 10:43 AM

My brother came by for a few minutes and we were talking about Klubnik . He says to me that Klubnik is really just a 4 star and then said " and how tall is he?" Now he is an alum and and an IPTAY member .He won't really focus on Clubnik till he feels he has too.So I am not surprised or anything .But do you think that recently added 5th star is justified ? As for Klubnik 's height I reminded my brother he is a half inch taller than DeShaun Watson. Not much of a reaction from him other than a shrug but that's just him for the time being.

he is a solid 5 star, but not a top 10 player in his class like Watson, TL, and DJ were.

I don't necessarily know I agree with that. DJ dominated at St. John Bosco, but he really only had the 5 Stars because of his physical attributes. I view Klubnik as more Drew Breesish than anything. Super accurate and great leader, but not the same physical attributes. But who would you rather have throwing the ball for us in their prime, Big Ben or Drew Brees? Exactly.

The only ranking "issue" anyone can claim is that Cade bumped up to the #1 QB position only because Quinn Evers reclassed and went to Ohio State early.
But even so...I'm pretty sure Cade owned Evers @$$ head to head.

I think that is the most influential part of his recruitment. Every time he is put in a big situation he responds. Showed out in Evers showdown and then in the elite 11.
Agree with those above he is not a sure thing like TL. He is a competitor with a huge upside. If he shows up before Deshaun we would be calling him a program changer.

That’s because West Lake is the most stacked team in the state every year, D1 players at every position. Ewers did not have a great team and carried them to almost won state. Gotta remember Cade doesn’t play defense and neither does Ewers, a lot goes into a team winning.

Westlake has a fine program, no question. However, you best not tell anyone from Highland Park, Southlake Carrol, North Shore, etc., etc. that Westlake is stacked better than anyone else. Texas is "stacked" with top notch programs and winning a state title there IS a big deal.

He’s definitely 5*. He was the unanimous top qb at the last qb camp

that he participated in in California a few months ago. Even though he’s a legitimate 5*, he’s still not rated as high as Watson and Lawrence were when they were in hs but then again, not many guys are.

have all the intangibles and be a gamer is hard to find. Heres to hoping Cade has that in his blood like Deshaun does.

Hunter Johnson was also a 5* and had a higher overall grade than Cade and Deshaun…. Trust your eyes, not the rating.

Yeah every time I see him play he grows on me. there is no doubt in my mind that we got the better deal when the QB that committed to Bama chose them instead of us. Now the Bama QB may end up better I don't really know but when watching both of those guys tape Cade is just the better QB. Cade reminds me of a guy that is just a football player. I kind of like the fact he doesn't get the pub as a TL or DJU. People don't expect him to be TL or DJU coming in from high school and I think that is a good thing for him but I think he is going to win a lot of games around here and if DJU doesn't pick his game up it may be sooner than later.

He seems to be a playmaker similar to DeShaun which is pretty big in this archaic offense. His feet and accuracy throwing on the run will make our play calls seem more dynamic than they really are. I care not about his official star ranking and he looks better on film than that Tennessee kid we were looking at. Now that kid will have a better surrounding cast on offense and a more dynamic system so he may appear to be a better QB.

Similar to Deshaun as a playmaker? No way. I think Cade looks great though and I am thrilled we are landing him, and he may be great in his own way, but not similar to Deshaun as a playmaker imho after watching his film. He looks like his own man who just needs to get stronger and has a game of his own. I don't see any Deshaun similarities in his film though.

Noooooooooo…. Charlie gets romanticized way too much. He was a good, not great QB, and I never want another one like him at Clemson. He had a terrible attitude and work ethic after his freshman year and not enough talent. Lots of great measurable a though!

Yeah, you're right man. Takes a serious lack of talent to stay in the NFL for over a decade as a QB. That dude had the best job of anyone ever.

You’re crazy Charlie was a heck of a college QB. If he would have had a better Oline which during his years was pitiful and a couple of big play makers . His stats would have been very good . He had a beautiful deep ball plus good touch on the short stuff. Tough as nails

Poor Charlie played behind some of the WORST offensive lines EVER. That man took beating after beating and still kept getting up. Probably the toughest QB we ever had.

He is very mobile, athletic and is not a "Thrower" like we have now. He is a "passer" in the truest sense of the word. He plays in a very tough conference and the toughest division in Texas 6-A and has led his team to 2 straight Texas State titles, so he is a leader. I have watched him play 3 games and he never ceases to amaze. Great running ability and a gun for an arm. Is he a 5-Star? Absolutely. Will he become another DW4 or TL16?? I doubt it because they were generational talents. He will, however, be a big step up from what we have now.
