The only thing I can think of is his NFL grade was not very good and they gave him feedback that another year with better competition would really elevate his status and perhaps, the market and competition for QBs in another year may be better for him. I also think durability may be an issue and they would like to see a full season from him and a little more maturity that another year would give him.

I think that ND's NIL money makes it easier for him to wait a year on the NFL (especially if he is not projected as a first rounder). He gets paid, say, $500K next year and hopes that he can work himself up the draft board to make millions more. It seems a win - win for him.

More like 5th or 6th round, short guy and mesh offense masks his footwork and pocket presence.

He definitely is a talent. I’m very surprised with this move. I guess he thinks one more season with a big time program will allow him to be a high pick in the draft. Someone is going to get better when he arrives!

Yeah looks like ND. Not sure if his skill level translates completely to the NFL. Sure there is more money to be made at ND or honestly anywhere other than wake . Whoever gets him is getting a really good qb.

But I agree with the TNetters who said he needed to show that he could run an offense other than a slow mesh. That being said, he could be legit lethal next year. He threw for like 9,000,000 yard at Wake Forest to basically one dude. With a full squad like ND he could be dropping dimes all over the field. I’ll be rooting for this kid.
