I’m sure this has already been discussed—- but

What is the amount of revenue that our friends in Columbia receive from their conference just for being a member?I’m thinking it is significantly more than the Tigers payday from the ACC

They have been receiving more revenue than Clemson for about 30 years now and it still hasn't helped them to be successful.

Information is out there. You just have to let it in. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2022/02/10/southeastern-conference-revenue-increase-fiscal-2021/6741455001/

It's a wad more, and I clearly remember when they were having their only 5 win streak against us, that is all they bragged about, it was how much more money they were paid as an SEC member, more than what Clemson received from the ACC, and it was for that reason that Clemson would only win maybe 1 out of 10 games against them from then on. How well did that work for them!!!! :)

Thanks for your research time with looking that up!!!!

18 mil more than ACC members is actually a lot of money, especially if a school uses it to get better. As we all have seen though, the SEC only has a few teams that are actually that much better than ACC teams in FB!!!

a large number of close friends allied with Carolina, I know the school has spent huge sums improving the area around Williams Brice.

Largely regarded for years as a warehouse district nestled in a lower income area, Carolina has actually been doing a reasonably good job with improvements. I think the immediately adjacent areas, including the old State Farmers' Market site, as well as the fairgound location, have seen the best revitalizations. The list goes on.

My opinion is that they will continue to use those funds for those types of improvements over the years, and therein lies a huge difference from Clemson. Their expenditures concern urban renewal, which is never cheap. Additionally, they have to fight the city of Columbia over every issue, though it used to not be that way, and that ain't cheap.

Thus, though their revenue may be larger, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that their improvements, given their location, aren't a heck of a lot costlier than ours.
