I'm starting to get a little concerned about DT recruiting

It doesn't look like we're gonna get any DTs this cycle and there really aren't any good prospects in the 2018 class either. I'm guessing, but I think this maybe what the coaching staff is thinking:
- Move Gage Cervenka back to DT if we need help there
- Load up on DEs and have a couple of them eat and lift there way to being a DT

With only one senior DT and the staff redshirting a DT they never even went after a DT. We will have 7 DT on the team next year and with only having 14 to 15 scholarships they couldn't use 1 on a DT.
Stephon Wynn Jr at TL Hanna is a very good DT, Belk is also a good instate DT, and Clemson will sign a national recruit at DT.

Wynn is a DE and Belk doesn't appear to be a Clem kinda guy

With Belk, there are concerns about his work ethic and attitude. Dabo generally doesn't put up with that baggage. Wynn is one of those DEs I was thinking about as far eating and lifting his way to being a DT.

Been for over a year. Clemson is recruiting Belk very hard and is in very good shape to sign him, as for his work ethic he was playing hurt last year.

Wynn projects as a DT or a 3-4 DE . Lacks the speed we are accustomed to seeing from our DEs here at Clemson.

Lawrence, Wilkins, Pagano, Huggins, Pinckney. Ferrell, Bryant, Kelly, and Yeargin at DE.

Where's all this DT depth after next year?

There's likely 5 guys that will be gone or useless DT from this year's team.
- Watkins is graduating this year
- Pagano will be graduating next year
- Wilkins is only going to be a 3 year guy, so he'll be gone
- Cervenka got moved to other side of the ball and has looked good there.
- Robinson has weight issues which keeps him from being a serviceable DT
That leaves us with Big Dex, Nyles, Huggins, and Sterling at the start of 2018. Considering no takes in this class and likely just Wynn in next year's class, 5 is not an ideal number of bodies at that position. Big Dex will be the anchor, but if he gets hurt, we're potentially screwed up front if the other guys don't take a big leap forward.
The following year Dex will likely be gone as a 3 year guy and Huggins graduates. We'd be putting an awful lot of pressure on ourselves to hit home runs in that 2019 class cause we'd have to take a ton of guys at DT to get our numbers back up.

I just think he will. Maybe if he graduates early like DW and Artavis but I think he stays to get his degree. Now if he is top 5 on draft boards he may go. Which he should be but I don't see it happening.

If Sterling can prove to be at least serviceable next year, I'd feel a lot better about the future of the position.

He started his Jr year at 265lbs, he'll easily be 290lbs when he starts his freshman year. Every school is recruiting him as a DT including UGA, the sites might list him as a SDE just like Albert Huggins he'll Plat DT.

Nothing to worry about for the next 2 years. We have plenty DTs and I am sure we will get one or two in the next class.
