because we don't swing at good pitches. I don't know how you teach our guys to swing at better pitches ....... guess it is the job of the hitting coach. Hopefully, it will get better. Go Tigers!

Yes, we have had our moments, but way too inconsistent. I am not basing what I posted on wins and losses but on our consistency and just watching our batters. Wagner's at bats were brutal today. All teams strike out, all team's players swing at bad pitchers, but the better teams are more consistent. I'm not convinced that many of the teams we play have that much better players.

Skeeta ..... I love all of our teams and do not like to criticize them, especially individual players, but when I do I had rather do it after a win or when we are winning rather than after a tough or embarrassing loss. I am delighted with the win and most of the time this team gives it their best, so I am not criticizing effort. I feel pretty sure that Wagner did not want to strike out four times, but when you swing at pitches that the bat will not reach, something is out of whack.

Well, we rank 186th in batting average among D1 schools, so that says something too. Maybe hitting isn't as important if you have dominant pitching, but that has not bee the case with us. I hope most of this is due to us being a young team.

#3 Miss St ranks 82nd
#25 Coots ranks 217
Maybe the SOS and opposing pitching quality skew the rankings?

Yes ..... they can be deceiving.
I'm very happy to be proved wrong! Tigers are coming out aggressive today. You will notice that all of the hits today they have swung at good pitches.

They do have hitting coaches. It is usually one of the assistants.

we make a lot for sure but we are not even last in acc . lots of errors being made. remember, some teams have not played the full compliment of games either. we have made 57. 6 teams have over 50. several in the high 40's. not an excuse. much like strikeouts errors are not exclusive to clemson.
