Nothing against Venables-- I think he's a good coach-- but I don't think Steele was really the problem.

defense, can't possibly be developed into good players. I mean when you have a bunch of 4* and 5* players, they never ever turn out to be good. We need to start going after the 1 and 2 star players.

Who are the NFL stars on this defense?

Steele had 3 drafted last year. 5 of his 11 starters were invited to NFL training camps. He had talent.

yet year after year, the NFL keeps on drafting players from our defense. And we have recruited too good for far too long to be this bad on defense. There are some serious coaching issues on the defensive side. Maybe it's Venable, or maybe Venables needs to bring in some of his hand picked assistants. We sure as heck need a new DB coach.
