GOP has two interesting candidates for City Council at-large

May 16, 2022, 10:59 AM

Kyle Luebke and Charlie Mulligan. Definitely more of your urban Republican brand. I dig it.

I’m voting in GOP primaries and voting only for Trump backed candidates; just in case some fake conservatives are planning on voting in primaries for once.

Other than the border, which he did a great job with, and not being PC, how is he conservative? He seems like the polar opposite of what I grew up knowing as conservative. Mitt Romney is even far more conservative than Trump. As far as Presidents go, Reagan would think Trump was about as liberal as it gets. George HW Bush makes Trump look like a liberal. I would say he is one of the more liberal Republicans of all time if you compare him to the past conservative leaders. He is just authoritarian, but not really conservative compared to the past. I realize times have changed though.

Freedom of speech and freedom to assemble / peaceful protest is fundamentally conservative.

Trump is far more tolerant of these two conservative principles than Romney. DJT is ~ same GWB on these.

Same here, but I’m most excited to vote against Trump in the 2024 primaries. I might vote for Mike Pence.

What you are doing (selecting a party primary in which to vote ... even if the political party in which you vote is not 'your baseline' political party) is done all the time.

(This comment is neither a TD or a TU at you.)

I also gather that you don't like Trump. How insightful of me!
