I’m one of those guys that thinks things happen for a reason

I don’t think it’s any accident that Dabo is where he is. I do not think it is an accident that it is Clemson.
Last year, we beat the “best team in history” and went 15-0, first time in modern football era, but yet, we never got the label “best in history” by the football talking heads.
This year, we had the chance to win 30 straight games. That was the prize I most wanted - more than back-to-back titles. The story would have been amazing.
But as it has been in the Dabo area, we make a lot of progress, and take a step back. Dabo has the right perspective on failure and he has taught it well to his staff and players. It is often in the failure that we learn the biggest lessons. As we’ve heard Dabo say numerous times, we weren’t made for the mountain tops. It’s about the journey.
I just have the feeling that we now go on to top this 29-1 stretch next. I am not giving a “mark it down” prediction, but I would not be surprised if in 2 years we won’t be looking at the first team in history that goes 30-0, having been in CFP 7 straight years, with back-to-back NC and 4 of the last 6.
LSU just tied our historic feat from last year and now has the label of “greatest ever,” again, a title we were never extended.
