During the season, a lot of folks on here we’re clamoring for changes at OC and OL. We’ll have to wait and see how they do but we had changes at both.

Losing BV was the obvious deepest hit but he was here alot longer than I ever expected he would be. He definitely paid his dues and was rewarded with his dream job.

We replaced him with Goodwin, who BV wanted to take to Ok. After only 1 game Goodwin looks legitimate and I’ve recently heard him say that this DC job was his dream job. He loves the Clemson area, loves working for Dabo, and I could see him being content and happy as our DC for many years.

We just lost our DT coach. Bates was a very good teacher and our DTs were well schooled and great technicians. When we lost our starters the backups stepped up and we didn’t miss a beat. However, Bates was not a strong recruiter and these past 2 years DL recruiting took a nosedive.

Eason looks like an automatic upgrade at DL. Having played the position for a decade or n the nfl, I’d expect him to be just as good at teaching, possibly better than Bates. Recruiting wise, he’ll definitely be an upgrade and he’ll be hungry to succeed and have a sense of urgency.

So, I’d say we improved our coaching this off-season and I can’t wait to see them coach next season.

I believe Dabo was ready for BV and the others to leave. I believe each of them played a part in training replacements and think a drop off might not happen. I can believe we will be better with these changes.

I hated BV to leave but understand. I think all the new hires were great and we will see better results with no drop off. The new coach no one is talking much about, Richardson, I think will help a ton with new play calling. Him and Streeter are going to rock I think.
