Seriously, how many would tune in to see Dabo vs. Saban, Dabo vs. Lane, Dabo Vs. Dancin' Brian Kelly, Dabo vs. Kirby, Dabo vs. Pirate Leach, Dabo vs. Sarkisian, Dabo vs. Brent Venables, Dabo vs. Jimbo, and more? It's no longer what state you're from -- it's branding.

Nah, I disagree. Streaming has changed the game. The technology will continue to improve and will therefore continue to blurry the lines that separate traditional “TV markets”. Branding will play an increasingly more significant role in these conference shifts.

Discussing TV or Media markets is minimally important in 2022. It is about brands. UCLA and USC is still big brands so they were attractive to the Big.
UNC is a big brand- driven by basketball, but a big brand regardless. Clemson is a white hot brand nationally in the CFP era. Miami and FSU still have brand cache. If they keep sucking, that may not last so they should have some urgency to act now. Duke is on the same position with the retirement of the bball coach.
These conferences are going national from a top down approach rather than picking off regions.

If I was the SEC, I would add UNC, NCState, UVA, and VT. This would be a big blow to Clemson and my fear.
I hope they add Clemson, FSU, UNC, NCState, UVA, and VT.
I don't like any of this change though.

Ppl keep talking basketball when talking UNC and Duke. This is solely about football. Football is the driving force behind all these moves. The money is behind football. Like they said on Pardon the Interruption basketball has been relegated to one month and means nothing when talking mergers. They also said there are only 2 schools that matter now and that was Notre Dame and Clemson when talking about the next dominoes. UNC nor Duke bring the interest or eyes in football. They just don't. This whole thing is about football power and the SEC could wrap this war up with the invite of ND and Clemson. No matter what else or who else the B1G brought in it wouldn't matter the SEC would be king with the addition of CU and ND.

SEC. I don’t doubt that. BUT I also believe Clemson would be too. There’s no doubt they would love to have a share of the NC market. They also understand passion and they know they get that with our fan base. Branding is just as huge as a tv market. They know the ratings will pour in to watch Clemson.
Clemson always draws a large crowd on tv.
