Wes Goodwin. He is an unproven commodity. This is the whole hiring from within issue that will continue to pop up.

That's one way to look at it. I don't think there's any guarantee though that these decommits would've remained committed even if we hired the absolute biggest name DC possible. You have to keep in mind that BV has been involved in recruiting these guys for the last 1-3 years as have coaches from other teams recruiting them. It's hard for a new coach to develop that trust with recruits in such as short time period whether it's an inside or outside hire.

How do we know Godwin isn't on the recruiting trail with the coaches?

He is on the recruiting trail. He was there with all the coaches at Covil's house last night and there's pictures.
