been that way! In fact, it has only been fairly recently that the regular season champ was even recognized by the league!

The ACCT champion has been officially declared ACC champs historically

by the league. Think in more recent years they've begun recognizing the regular season champs a little more as well as the tourney champs like the B12 & SEC does.
