So now we should consider staying masked up to prevent the common cold and flu. No doctor. No.
The messaging out of the CDC is not a winning one to encourage folks to vaccinate.

That's what a dozen or so very expensive, randomized tests have shown about masks. Lots of charts and grafts, and letters like 'R' and 'n'. PhD's involved and everything. Very interesting. And I'll send you $1000 for every RCT that showed masks materially effect the spread of a virus in a population, and you send me $1000 for every one that shows they don't. You're down about $12,000. Those have to be done because some people don't believe the simple math. A small probability x many events = outcome approaching 1. A relatively large probability, say, 20%, and you're toast in a hurry, like, in 5.

No. Not really, but would you not agree the messaging is poor? If one despite being vaccinated has to continue wearing a mask for the indefinite future, is that a motivation for the unvaccinated to take the vaccine? I think not. What I would like to know is some estimate from the CDC, Fauci, et al when they feel masking will no longer be recommended? What is the number of acceptable deaths from COVID?
