there are a some problems for which I have few answers
1. The kid can't read defenses pre-snap.
2. The kid stares down his # 1 receiver right from the snap. He never looks anybody off.
3. The kid cannot find his 2nd or 3rd receivers.
4. The kids cannot throw the deep ball with any accuracy, so defenses feel free to load up the box and jump the short routes.
5. The O-Line cannot run the ball (or the O-coordinator won't even try to) even with only 5 or 6 men in the box.
6. The O-Line cannot protect the passer.
&. for a guy that is 6-5 and 250, the kid runs like a marshmallow. TL was a tougher runner than this kid.
I think you have to give serious consideration to replacing DJ and seeing if Pommachanh can spark the offense. The problems that DJ is having are NOT going to just go away. If he could have overcome them, he already would have.
Cade Klubnik cannot get here soon enough.

Since none of us see practices, I would expect there is a reason our backup stays on the bench but all your other points are right on. We have to run the ball because our days of being a passing force are over for now.

ValleyBoy it is refreshing to see the (should be obvious to all, but is frequently missing in others) humility: "Since none of us see practices ... is a reason our backup [QB] stays on the bench ..."
Again, the same coaches that benched K.Bryant (i.e., our good-enough-to-win starting QB during the early part of the 2018 Natty season) in favor of the backup (i.e., T.Lawrence) are currently observing the merits and demerits of DJ vs. TP ... and continue to stick with DJ.
Since even the TNet board bashers have not cited any obvious examples of stroke or TDS (no, not Trump Derangement Syndrome ... but instead Tony [Elliott] Derangement Syndrome), then these same Tnet board bashers have not come to a conclusion that our smart coaches in 2018 have suddenly become hopelessly stupid in 2021.

I don't see how he could do any worse than DJ. And if you go with the stats DJ has, TP would probably fare better.

If you’d take Cole, you’ve forgotten all the interceptions. DJ has protected the ball well. Give him that.

Will he enroll this spring? If so then I expect a QB competition. If he is not here until summer, then it'll be DJ and TP in competition until mid season at least.
