Women's Golf Issue
Jun 29, 2016, 4:07 PM
|

Here are the problems: 1. Catty, silver-spoon girls. 2. Parents that think they know what's best...and trying to coach the team themselves. 3. Coach doesn't have a spine and refuses to call the parent out, directly.
I heard it from my sources in Florida.

First, thank you for your service sir. I met Ashlan Ramsey and her day 2 years ago. Great person and spoke highly of her time at CU. They were working at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville waiting on people in business suites. Blew my mind, very humbling, she was injured and had just left school for the LPGA tour and she and her dad were working to make $$$ for her shot at the tour while she was rehabbing a back injury. I can't speak for the other girls on the team but they didn't seem the silver spoon type esp to be basically busting tables. I felt kind of embarrassed for her.

While some of these may be true,

I was told that teammates were made to do exhaustion runs when they didnt perform well enough in practice or matches, were verbally abused by coach, and generally led by tearing down over failure instead of building up to prevent failure.
I was in the Marine Corps too, and I completely understand that type of discipline. But this is division 1 women's golf, not boot camp.
Heard it from sources in Anderson.

Marines break you down to make a group into a cohesive unit. I think a little of everything we have read is true. I know JT, his female assistant coach and have met a few of the girls. Some young lady and men golfers (certainly not all) are handled treated with kid gloves from the time they are young until they leave for college. Some will react to criticism and tougher coaching in a positive manner and some in a negative manner. I'm going to give JT the benefit of doubt and hope that everyone learns something from this!

I respectfully disagree with your sources but when one has listened to audio and seen written documentation about the situation its easy to know the truth.

That article was dreamed up by Ramsey's father. She didn't come from money only bc he embezzled money (~800,000$) from two older ladies in Augusta, spent a few years in the pen too. He ruined two lives for his gain already, and now he's trying to ruin another one in JT. Look up Ramsey's deal in Augusta. Pretty pathetic once again about the Anderson independent
The other ladies left not bc of JT, but for personal reasons. Be careful what you read and hear

I don't know AL and I have never met him either. But I can say the same about you. Just because AL has made some mistakes doesn't mean the things he has said things about the women's golf program that are not true. Would you like to dispute that the record for the last 3 years the team has played from 18.8 to 27.7 shots worse in the spring than it has in the fall. That has nothing to do with AL. Would you like to dispute that their have been multiple investigations for players being grabbed by the face or shoulders? Again not an AL issue. Or that the clear majority of players feel that the environment is hostile. Again not an AL issue. AL was not the reason an associate athletic director had to accompany the girls to tournaments. I agree that people should be careful what they read or hear. But don't ignore the truth for the wrong reasons.

girls then you'll never be happy with the women's program. Because that's the majority of golfers.

I will take the word of the players, 2 associate athletic directors, the athletic director and the Title IX investigator. You can enjoy your hobby and believe whatever truth is floating around next to the reefer smoke in your head. It's all good.
