If the SEC pulls off this Texas and Oklahoma realignment,

the Big 10 is going to be compelled to make moves to solidify their revenue position. Because of the Big 10's current revenue position, they will be very attractive to established schools who may be willing to make a conference leap. I hate the Big 10, but they are the only other conference with a revenue stream capable of competing with an expanded SEC.
Unfortunately the ACC is not in such a good position when it comes to expansion. The ACC is significantly lagging behind in comparative conference revenue and I have very little faith that the ACC is capable of attracting the big name schools to the conference to close the revenue gap with the SEC and Big 10. In essence, we may find that the landscape of college football (and sports in general) is about to be run by 2 conferences with the ACC being relegated to a third class citizen.
I sure hope the powers that be at Clemson are exploring all options to best situate Clemson for the future. Clemson may very well find that sticking it out in the ACC is not in our best interest - especially if (dare I say it) the Big 10 makes overtures towards us in order to counter the SEC's blatant power grab.
With all this re-alignment fur flying, my fear is that Clemson's loyalty to the ACC may override Clemson's own best self-interest. I would like for Clemson to remain in the ACC but that may not be the wisest move if things are setting up for the college football landscape to be dominated by a "Power 2" system.

I agree with your statements but remember the ACC has always been the 3rd class citizen behind the SEC and Big 10 in revenue, respect, etc. So that is nothing new. If the ACC can remain intact it really needs Florida State, Miami and Virginia Tech to start carrying their weight.
