So if the SEC wants to form a best-of-the-best super conf,

Jul 5, 2022, 1:47 PM

then what will they do with all the weak teams that they have - like Vandy, USuC, etc? They're poaching the stronger teams from other conferences, leaving those conferences with the lesser teams, so what's to be of the weaker teams of the SEC? They just get lucky to stay and then continue to get pounded every year, just to make the big bucks?

If thats the intent, they would need to purge first

and then replace with better, e.g. Clemson replacing the coots.

I think I purge may be in the offing with the SEC and the BIG.

Serious question: what about all the teams NOT deemed "worthy" of being in a super conference? UNC and Kansas and Duke and Villanova with great basketball teams? UCF a large university with an undefeated football team recently? And Arizona State, NC State, GA Tech, and etc? We need a level field for all teams.

UNC, Duke, and Kansas are big enough brands in basketball that they will get brought along.

So many UNC wal-mart fans

That's what I heard, and that Clemson will probably get left out any super conference deals!!! That what I head the host on coot radio saying today!!!

They don't think that and unless there are at least 30 teams in the conference, that is not possible, plus the needle will move every year as it always does.

So Albarn can get a bowl game every year ?***

Nobody is going to be "purged"

In the B1G, it requires a unanimous vote of the other schools. The B1G schools are so intertwined historically and academically, I don't even think the jerks at Ohio State would be in favor of expelling anyone. Remember, it's the school presidents that make this decision, not the ADs. The academic cross-pollination is quite extensive.

I have no idea about the SEC but I bet it's similar.

To answer your question: Yes, they get lucky and stay. Getting pounded every year in football is a small price to pay if it means you get to build great facilities AND all of your other sports are fully funded.

This re-alignment isn't about results on the football field, it's about money (to build facilities, have "nice" things [heh heh], fund athletic departments, etc).
