Well, there’s 10 win seasons, and then there’s 10 win seasons.
If In order to accomplish a 10 win season, you beat several quality teams and lose some heartbreakers, that’s still a pretty good season.
2021’s 10 win season needed a little bit of help from the worst conference in America and wins over UCONN , SCSU, and a bottom tier SEC team.
I’m probably different from most in that I wish our scheduling would improve, and if you lose a couple to really good out-of conference teams, I can live with that.
The Georgia loss this year stunk, but it sure was fun in July and August knowing we were getting ready to play the week 1 headline game!

Remember 2009, we lost either 4 or 5 games and still made it to the ACC Championship game. That was classified as a good season due to all that happened the previous year

I can handle being 9-3 if we’re doing everything we can to keep up.
If we’re 9-3 because of a refusal to adapt to modern CFB, then I’ll have a problem.

I’ll take just the opposite.

I believe in our coach who says “Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it. Right is right, even if no one is doing it.”
Would rather go 9-3 knowing we have a unique program who is trying to protect what makes college athletics a great experience for all. These other clowns can sell their souls trying to go undefeated. I don’t want that.

They keep talking about how grateful we should all be for 10 win seasons.
Right?

Changes to the staff… absolutely. Changes regarding the head man, absolutely not!

When you let things stay as they were after Danny Ford left, you end up the way that we were until Dabo. Dabo is the only Clemson coach in 40 years that the admin said win, and we'll give you what you need to keep winning!!!

Let’s be honest here. Winning the ACC championship will happen again shortly. There is just not that many good teams to beat in the conference. But will winning the ACC get you in to the final four going forward?? I can see Clemson going 11-2 or 12-1 until the other teams become more competitive.

Can't speak for most guys ,but for me the answer is a resounding "NO" and it is because of one of Dabo's 5 season goal; "Winning the Conference" .Not just the division but the conference and that would be a virtually impossibility with losing 2 games in the conference, or the occasional loss to the coots. Take this season for instance. We could have made the CFP's with just the loss to Georgia, but the two ACC games cost us any shot at the Conference. Add to that our 10th win was a bowl game, not a regular season. And I don't think that would be acceptable to most of the fan base, especially if cross conference rival Georgia continued to make the playoff's ,or beat us regularily.

like they are now, I'm not seeing criminals in media every few weeks like some schools, I'm ok with giving Dabo benefit of doubt. It might take 5 years to figure out the new NIL , transfer portal landscape. who knows, FSU could make a run back to prominence that could keep us in second place in the division. (heaven forbid)
I think you only fire a coach, once you no longer have confidence he can win an ACC Championship or have a shot at a National Championship. Given what Dabo has done, it would take me a lot to convince me he is no longer capable of that.

By the end of that 5 years Bama will have a dozen Championships. I think back at how much fun it is to win one and then two. Once you have experienced that it's all downhill. I think everyone says they would be fine but we all want more. The sad part is we have the head coach, however hard headed he is. Maybe he has made all of the right moves to get us back. I don't think so but I hope so. Having at least 6 of your staff members jump ship all in the same year is not only devastating to the program but extremely perplexing for me. Last year you couldn't run anyone off and this year you can't pay them to stay. I'm of the opinion that Dabo had absolutely no idea this was coming and he was not very prepared for it.
