If OU thought BV was going to bring what he had at Clemson with him…

they were mistaken. It has nothing to do with BV. He is an excellent coach.
But BV had the Clemson culture, and that was built over the course of 10+ years. Can he build a culture? Sure.
But you cannot replicate the impact culture has in Clemson.

I'm happy that he didn't take Tyler with him!

I am quite surprised though…I mean CBV KNOWS…

…what it takes to play at the highest level.
He knows how to evaluate talent, schemes, situational awareness, in-game adjustments.
He coached Clemson’s defense to TWO (2) National Championships!
OK…he was not an OFFENSIVE coach, but, he has watched and studied offenses ad nauseam. He would definitely be able to teach, coach, and assist during the game to establish a credible defense.
Maybe Riley took some players with him, but he didn’t GUT the roster!
No, I’m actually SHOCKED what is happening at OU under CBV (who is really a hero of Clemson, in my mind).

I always liked BV and will always appreciate his time at Clemson. What I didn't like was how he said all the right things when they stuck a microphone in his face but then as soon as he and his assistants got on the plane and cleared SC air space they started up with all the trash talking about our program and that has continued on the recruiting trail.
Nope, I loved him at Clemson but these beatdowns his OK team is taking do not bother me one iota. Sorry if that makes me sound petty but just being honest about it.

Oh cmon…..that’s not exclusive to Clemson. If he puts in the work Dabo has for as long as he has…..he can make that happen. OU lacks nothing. Not money, not support. They need to give BV time. Clemson is no doubt special, but I believe out consistency can be achieved at OU.

He's only been there like six months

Quick do you remember the last time Clemson finished a season with a losing record? 2010 Dabo's 2nd full season. I don't know if Coach V can replicate what we have here but I do know he can't do it overnight.

I think he himself always questioned whether he had what it takes to be the head coach at the top level. Some guys are just made to be second bananas and lead from the shadows. I never saw him as the CEO type, more like a COO. Time will tell as this stint will probably either make him or break him.
