IF Nebraska were to bail on the B1G...
Oct 7, 2016, 11:51 AM

Would Swofford be smart enough to swoop in, grab Penn State-- which has never been a natural fit in the B1G-- and put the screws to Notre Dame to join as a full member?
Not only would that solidify the best conference in the country, but it would also enable the conference to go North/South and for the Northern schools to re-establish some traditional ivalries.
Is Swofford awake?

They have no moral reason to be involved with Collegiate Football in this country.

The first conference to fall apart will be the Big 12.

I don't understand how they deal with Texas having personal TV Network. I think they are screwed. Houston is their best recruit and that little to their footprint.
ND won't take the cut in pay to join the ACC, it's just not economically practical for them being that they get a cut of the PO money whether they seed in the tourney or not. If they ever seed they will make more in that year than they'd make in five if they signed with a conference.

How does adding a garbage PSU program and a mediocre Notre Dame project solidify anything?

Isn't the ACC required to ONLY take schools that are good in BBall? I think that's what Swofford and his cronies keep saying with their actions.
Getting rid of ND would be a welcome site. I'm tired of them, and they aren't even in the ACC. *If you aren't in ACC FOOTBALL, then you are NOT in the ACC.

the ACC? They add nothing to the footprint, we're already in Penn and most of their fans are horrible people...they still defend JoePa for God's sake...They're football program is mediocre AT BEST and they don't have another program that is competitive in a revenue sport, so what is the motivation?

So let me get this straight.... some idiot radio host says he "heard" Nebraska wanted to rejoin the B12, and everyone believes him? Did people just fall off a turnip truck??????
No way in HECK does Nebraska leave the B1G.... they make double the money in the probably the most prestigious and wealthy conference there is, yet this fool wants people to believe they want back in that clown show of conference that's owned by the Longhorns??? The people at Nebraska are probably LOL-ing at that nonsense.

As a fan, I prefer Nebraska back in the Big 12. The rivalries are much better and they have tradition there. Them playing in the B1G seems so contrived and wrong.
I like PSU. You can't blame all the alumni for the actions of one horrible man plus others like Paterno who covered it up. They deserve a chance at redemption.
Just please never let Maryland back in the ACC. We are so much better off without their mediocre sports and trashy fans. Louisville = major upgrade (except for academics).
Extra benefit if the ACC took PSU - Maryland would lose their only sudo-rivalry game. I know they have gotten more money the last few years, but I really think the Twerps screwed the pooch when they decided to leave behind their ACC brethren.
