If LSU and Alabama were in the ACC…

Would they have more than one or two conference championships? I think that Clemson in the 80’s and 2010’s, and FSU in the 90’s and early 2000’s would have prevented it. I do think there were some opportunities for them to win in the 2010 +\- area, but that was a pretty small window.

I do not see ANY windows here, The 90'-2000's had Al Groh and Chuck Amato at the helms of programs that traditionally were considered weak. Throw 4 years of Joe Hamilton in the Mix and we can scratch that entire era of ACC football off of their list.
And as I recall, LSU was never considered to be very good, They hired Gerry DiNardo during that time, who is like Hal Mumme without the hair.
2016 and 2018 would have been Bamas best chances, but we settled that on the field.

because most of the recruits they get say they want to play in the SEC. I could see their performance in the ACC being on par with the Tobacco Road schools since that would significantly reduce the amount of talent going to those schools to play football. In fact, just like SC who happens to be the last SEC school to play in the ACC, I suspect they would have a losing record against most of the teams in our conference including Duke.

Those pesky academic standards, the UNC double-standard, and having to travel to play BC/Cuse each year would absolutely tank their programs. I mean just ask Miami and they had more titles than either of those programs since 81 until their inclusion in the ACC.
