Has Dabo ever taken a transfer?

Therein might lie your answer.

He has taken a transfer. He took a QB transfer from Stanford. So I ask again if the no. one DE recruit in last years class wanted to transfer to Clemson would Clemson take him?

I would hope so, and eventually Dabo is 100% going to have to accept transfers if we are going to truly be an elite team for the long haul.

I’m not saying transfers are necessary to win the ACC this year or next, but if we want to stay in the same overall talent/depth class as Bama, UGA, OSU, etc…we can’t just lose talent to the portal.

Ga. has five transfers

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We seem to be losing quite a few more players

Sep 14, 2021, 2:48 AM [ in reply to Re: Playing devils advocate, ]

in recent years, not just mediocre players that don't get playing time, but good players that transfer and start other places.

It's not just Clemson, college football has changed.

OSU beat us last year with a GA transfer at QB.

Fair point, but anyone who we take in the portal would have to be a culture fit and I’m sure Dabo et al would pay as much attention to that as during the initial recruiting process. Just trying to stockpile the best available talent like FSU or Miami wouldn’t work for us.

That means not just bringing someone in who will be truly “all in,” but also when the addition makes sense within the dynamic of the current roster and locker room. Dabo is sensitive to the knock-on effects of recruiting a guy then bringing someone in shortly after at the same position, and that’s a good thing. I just think that he would be selective enough to make it work fine.

If someone like Amarius Mims or Broderick Jones from UGA popped up in the portal, we would be silly to not to pursue.

Did not know that. Thanks for the correction.

But I don’t think he’ll take Foreman. Our D is loaded.

It's hard to count the QB from Stanford. IMO, Dabo didn't really intend on him playing. The guy threw one pass while at Stanford.

Would you accept a transfer from a kid that had never had any interest in Clemson since you will not accept one that had a lot of interest in Clemson?

Doubtful…

I will bet my 3rd nut that crook Kirby is on the horn with Foreman’s reps right now.

If Korey Foreman wants to come to Clemson we should definitely accept him!!

No doubt about it. He would make us better!

Re: If Korey Foreman wants to transfer will we take him?

Sep 13, 2021, 7:47 PM

I would hope he would take anyone that can help us win as long as it is legal, moral and the player fits the culture! They obviously thought he would fit the culture or they wouldn’t have offered him originally and the legal and moral issues are null in this situation so why not???

In saying that…I think it’s a mute point as I don’t think Foreman chose USC for the football part of it or because he was in love with the coaches…the reasons he chose USC have not changed one bit imho!!! His situation could have actually just become better for his future Iah!!!

While we are busy getting a high school all American de … can we also entertain the thought of getting a freshman college all American OL who just chose to enter the portal at FSU??? I mean I know we are loaded at ol but just sayin…he was the first true freshman to start on the ol at FSU since 2008…he maybe can add depth to our stacked ol!!!

Pass that on to the guy we have sitting at a desk and is in charge of transfers. The former TE coach.

FSU OL?

nah, we don't need a HS All-American on the O line. Besides, I heard Caldwell's second cousin's kid is stout 6'-2" 365. We're saving a spot for him. Told Uncle Robbie he's swearing off cotton candy and coke after homecoming and getting his diabetes under control, because.....you know...the "best is the standard" here.

Hmmm … not sure if it’s your reading skills or comprehension skills but the DE Foreman is the former high school all American…the OL from FSU was a college Freshman all American and the first OL to start at FSU since 2008…that was last year…anyway…you’re right…we def have better options!!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We should take him but he won't transfer

Sep 14, 2021, 12:02 AM

Korey Foreman is a game-changer. Him and Murphy at DE with Davis and Bresee at DT would be the best D-line in CFB history.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: We should take him but he won't transfer

Sep 14, 2021, 12:05 AM

Again…he didn’t choose USC because of the football
or the coaches…this isn’t a remote possibility!!!

What if instead of running the Transfer Portal for us, Pearman could run a new Student/Athlete CLEMSON RECORDING STUDIO? That could REALLY help us lock down some West Coast talent.<img border="> I can just imagine him dripping in gold chains, huge rings and sporting a "grill".

Just one example I happened to pick because his head coach was fired and whoever comes in will probably clean house.

Korey Foreman didn't sign with USC because of Helton...

Sep 14, 2021, 8:14 AM

and he won't be leaving because of him either.
