If KB finishes the game Sat

Oct 1, 2018, 3:16 PM

You think we win comfortably?
I say 34-20

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. It was 16-7 anyway as Cuse put together a 4:30 drive

Oct 1, 2018, 3:25 PM

before halftime.

I think the score would've been about the same. Amari would've still fumbled so that's 23 points.

You could argue we wouldn't have been as committed to running the ball.

Re: No. It was 16-7 anyway as Cuse put together a 4:30 drive

Oct 1, 2018, 3:29 PM

I think we score make it 14-13 at half .
I accounted the fumble giving them 20.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How would we have scored? Brice went in for one series

Oct 1, 2018, 3:50 PM

in the first half and we got the ball at our own 22 with just 24 seconds to work with . There's virtually no chance we get a TD on that drive with any QB. Even a reasonable FG attempt of 45 yards would've required picking up 50 yards in about 20 seconds.

And Cuse already had 16 points before Brice went in so i think maybe you are confusing drives.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's pretty clear he has no idea what he is talking about***

We got the ball back with 10 seconds... TL got knocked out

Oct 1, 2018, 3:53 PM [ in reply to Re: No. It was 16-7 anyway as Cuse put together a 4:30 drive ]

on a 3rd down play. We punted. Cuse drove it down the field to make it 16-7.

KB would've come in with 10 seconds to go in the half. The halftime score would've been 16-7.

We ended the game going... FG, FG, TD, punt, TD

At best, we win 30-23 imo if we turn one of those FGs into a TD.

Oh, we would have run the ball - KB would have run the ball mostly and they would have keyed on him and we would have had half the yards we did have.

Re: If KB finishes the game Sat

Oct 1, 2018, 3:29 PM

Well, here's one way you could look at it...Would you have wanted him in there taking Etienne's snaps?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: If KB finishes the game Sat

Oct 1, 2018, 3:37 PM

The Cuse D sucks we could have picked them apart
With a consistent passing game .
The 3 series it took for CB to get his accuracy down , with KB we probably score .

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What game this year has he consistently passed the ball well***

Oct 1, 2018, 3:47 PM

Well I do know KB wouldn’t have thrown that pick and more than likely hits HR is stride for a TD.
All I’m saying is KB would have been comfortable from the get.
Don’t want him back but we sure needed him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What have you seen this year that makes you think that

Oct 1, 2018, 4:03 PM

KB wouldn't have thrown that pick, but would have hit anyone in stride 10 yards down the field? Please provide an example

Who knows, but I can tell you this, there is no way he throws that ball to Tee on 4th and 6.

Not a chance in HeII***

No he would have took off and not even attempted that throw .
All I’m saying is it took almost a full quarter to get CB settled down .
With KB I think we score another TD before half
I’m glad CB got his feet wet and I believe we can win with him.
But it was a tough situation for him Sat.

Re: If KB finishes the game Sat

Oct 1, 2018, 3:45 PM

Score before half?

Chase took his first snap with less than 00:20 on the clock.

Kelly hasn't led a successful 2-minute drill in 4 years at Clemson. But you think he's running a 20-second one?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think you're confused. Cuse drove the field before half

Oct 1, 2018, 3:54 PM [ in reply to Re: If KB finishes the game Sat ]

and kicked a FG with like 24 seconds left.

Not even DW4 would've scored.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah that’s my bad I was thinking when TL went down

No. I don't.

I'm curious what you have seen that makes you think that would happen.

The KB chapter is closed. Lets move on!

Oct 1, 2018, 3:53 PM

It’s a message board not that big a deal and I do not want KB back.
But no way does this game come down to the last drive with us down and him at QB.

Why do you think that?***

KB has been pretty steady and at times looked very good.
Right now he is a better QB than CB but with experience CB has a higher ceiling.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's been steady alright...Steadily average at best...Four

Oct 1, 2018, 4:12 PM

games and two TD passes

No he wouldn't have done any better

Oct 1, 2018, 3:49 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You mean if KB hadn't quit the team?

Oct 1, 2018, 3:53 PM

Probably would have seen him the 3rd or 4th series for a few drives in the first half like normal and gotten a better idea about that - don't believe the coaches had changed their 'everyone will play' approach - just who was taking the field first.

Go Tigers.

I think it would've been pretty similar honestly

Oct 1, 2018, 4:06 PM

We were almost certainly going to be trailing 16-7 at the half regardless of who was at QB. Brice got his first action with just 24 seconds left in the half and the ball at our own 22 yard line. Getting points there would've been very difficult even with a healthy Lawrence at QB. Going ~50 yards in ~20 seconds for a reasonable FG attempt certainly isn't one of Kelly Bryant's strengths.

In the second half.. maybe we score a few more points? Maybe we punch it in after the INT instead of going 3 and out and settling for 3 points. Maybe KB doesn't throw the INT in our own half of the field? That INT didn't even lead to any Cuse points though. The most damaging play of the entire second half was the Rodgers fumble and that had nothing to do with the QB position.

2nd half drives went PUNT - INT - FG - FG - TD - PUNT - TD. 20 points in 7 drives isn't too bad. That's probably comparable to what Kelly Bryant did through 4 games.

I don't think the game would've been too different to be honest. We weren't really reliant on the QB position to move the ball in this game.

Re: I think it would've been pretty similar honestly

Oct 1, 2018, 4:11 PM

I realize that I was thinking about when TL went down was not thinking we didn’t get the ball back until almost half

No we lose.

Oct 1, 2018, 4:08 PM

KB keeps football away from our running backs.ETN and Feaster don't get to play smash mouth football wearing down Cuse D. He struggles to throw screens. The End.
Hth.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He’s not going to be on the team***

Or is this..IF Bullfrogs had wings they wouldn't bump their butts kind of thing

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ya'll forget...

Oct 1, 2018, 4:19 PM

KB likely would have been in the game at that point, and TL wouldn't have been hurt...

So the real question is, what would the score have been with all 3 QBs...healthy!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Ya'll forget...

Oct 1, 2018, 4:39 PM

Well, that's true.

Trevor got hurt on Kelly's rotation. If Kelly had been there, he would have known not to lead with his head.

No injury.

Now, could our normal 2-headed QB have brought us back? Probably

It looked to me TL was not leading with his head on purpose, he got ankle tackled and seemed to be stumbling toward the big hit.
