The cheat would be Beach Boys. Not sure how to leave them off. Would smuggle them on.

Apologies to Motwn and the Allman Bros./Dead/WSP.

You have to start with the four great British import bands:
1. Beatles 2. Stones 3. The Who 4. Zeppelin
Then the Band at #5. Order doesn't matter yet.
But looking at it and thinking about it, I'd take Crosby Stills Nash and Young (including single stuff) over Zep.
So in order:
The Band. The Stones The Beatles The Who CSNY

1. Jimmy Buffett - well, I AM stranded on an island, need proper sustainable tunes!! 2. Thin Lizzy - band I listen to nearly every day. 3. Motorhead - to scare the wild animals off at night! 4. Sammy Hagar (his catalog includes solo stuff/Montrose/Van Halen/Chickenfoot/The Circle). Plus he's a beach bum, lotsa songs about island life. 5. Drivin'n'Cryin, to rekindle the memories of the dozens and dozens of live shows over the last 4 decades.

Aerosmith Blackberry Smoke The Black Crowes Led Zeppelin The Allman Brothers.
If I take every record they ever made I'd surely die of thirst before I got through them all.

Here I am thinking
May 5, 2021, 5:15 AM

How are you going to listen to music on a desert island?
But I'd pick Jimmy Buffett, Motley Crue, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd and George Strait.

Impossible task.

My musical appetite is such that I would be swimming for civilization after the first week to replace the five I picked today. I can never do the favorites list and it be the same a week from now. Just too many great artists for me to ever pin that down.

Impossible task but . . . .
May 5, 2021, 7:51 AM
|
|
In no particular order
1. Van Halen
2. Needtobreathe
3. Prince
4. UB 40
5. Stevie Wonder
and I would get all new music put out by NTB while stranded.
