If I were Arch Manning, regardless of what school I chose

Dec 20, 2021, 10:31 AM

I would use my 5 million Dollar endorsement deal to buy receivers and linemen to join me at the school of choice. As we all saw this year, having a great QB is not enough, you also need great wide receivers and O-linemen or you will not be successful. It would be a wise investment for Manning to choose these players himself and purchase them to ensure his success in College. It would be a shame if he slipped through the cracks at a program like Ole Miss because the local boosters could not afford to buy him decent teammates.

Who is the great qb we have this year?

He must have been invisible and what did he do? All I saw was a struggling young man making all kinds of QBing mistakes.

I watched a couple of his games and I was not overly impressed by his talents. Played in a Catholic school league not a high 5 or 6 level program. Guess he'll show out this coming senior year. Guess that's why I'm not a coach or player evaluator.

May have had a rough year - but not as bad as loosing 30-0

With the current shipping issues...

Dec 20, 2021, 10:57 AM

he would be wise to pre-order his receivers and O-linemen now, so that he has them by next Christmas. If boosters are smart, they will lend him the money now for the down payments.

Just my 2 since, and before you reply, just know that I took an economics class at Clemson, so I understand the market.

Just think how good that Lawrence kid could have been with good offensive linemen.

Clemson isn’t noted for sending OLs to the NFL!

DJs problem wasn’t tackles and guards.

Reading these posts about NIL makes it clear the college football I love is dying fast. RIP

It’s a free for all no holds barred cut throat battle to the top now. Plus an expanding playoff. College football will be in a continuous state of chaos. That’s what all the talking heads and reporters wanted that’s why they advocated so hard for all this. They will be the only ones enjoying it.

Now honestly that is a genius move. He could guarantee a $100k for those players to sign at said school. He has a talent business that signs them for their legal NIL contracts, takes the top 10 he wants on offense, he keeps $4mil, then his company can pay them again for following yr as Manning will make more millions. Win 2-3 Natty's then sign NFL contract for #1 player and get another $40mil, and start his NFL career.

As funny as this sounds, I could see this happening at some level in the future. This NIL regulations and Transfer Potty really need some defined limitations. It is sickening as to what is happening to the greatest sport on earth!

...so who is there that can fix the problems (NIL and Transfer-Port- Let)? Not the now toothless NCAA.

so he'll see first hand what an idiotic idea you had, and won't have to take my word for it.

His uncles could hire a top level defense to give him short fields to work from.

I like how you think, (oops just thru up a bit). You need to take it nation wide to include the top 50 recruits every year. From your profits, you can buy us a great team. Win-Win-Win.

NFL QBs seem to add financial sweeteners to their OLs…

Dec 20, 2021, 1:01 PM

I know it is not a direct financial contractual arrangement, but the point is that there are some precedents where the QB is doing things to incentivize the players VITAL to his success.

I would place this suggestion in the category of the player insurance policies that they take out in protecting their asset (their bodies) from career ending injuries.

ESPECIALLY for the QB position, this strategy simply makes FINANCIAL sense based upon the current rules.

I like to think about what Archie Manning did when Eli was entering the NFL draft, and make it clear that Eli would NOT sign with the Chargers and would sit out the entire year if he had to. That was a Manning example of putting your money where you mouth is.

You actually think that a family that thinks like this, and has the money to execute it, hasn’t thought about how to protect Arch moving into his NFL career?

I'm certain Kirby and Arch have discussed which players they want to buy......"Ahem".....I mean, recruit for the 2022 class. Rumor has it The Kang is sitting pretty now that Texas is eliminated from Mannings list.
