College football is a weird entertainment industry - hypothetical question?

Sep 25, 2022, 10:30 AM

What’re the odds that the media spin heading into this week is that DJU has had a 180 and as a consequence Clemson is now a CFP contender. The logic being that it helps them hype up this game. And, no matter the outcome it leads to good headlines.

It doesn’t really matter… but it is the sort of game that can legitimately spark a heisman campaign. Everyone likes a comeback story. The way college football media works, it wouldn’t surprise me. Again, no that it matters but I’ll be curious to see what narratives form over the next week or so. Especially if we take care of the woofies.

DJ is not and will not be in the Heisman discussion this season. For one, he doesn’t have great receivers to help him get great numbers. Let’s hope that he continues to improve as he did yesterday. Saturday’s game will not be a walk in the park for our team.

Oh yea. I’m not saying it is reflective of reality. But seems like an interesting narrative.

The NCSU game is going to be tough. That’s a team that thinks they are ready to take the crown for the ACC (have made that clear all off season) and they’re playing like they belong. To get out with a W, the DBs will need to play better and hopefully get some help with the return of some combination of Jones and Mukuba. Also, XT would be a huge shot in the arm.

I believe they'll hype noticeable improvement, but

perhaps the greatest hype will be twofold: both are undefeated and N.C. State was one of our losses last year.

Night game before a sell-out crowd with Gameday in town plus DV's new upgrades will be icing on the cake to them.

AND NO DOUBT the rabble-rousing by the TigerNet faithful during the game will be the candles on that cake. I mean...after all..............lol.

Sometimes the candles on the cake are my favorite part.

If ESPN has anything to do with it NCSU will be the next

Sep 25, 2022, 10:55 AM

contender now and Leary will be the ESPN love child. Doreen will be a football genius.

That’s my hypothetical

That’s a good call and more probable.
