250lbs ain't doing that. DJ is good to escape the pocket much less take it 60 yards.

Even if DJ had foot speed, it wouldn't solve his biggest problems: (1) Inaccuracy, (2) inaccuracy, (3) inaccuracy, (4) poor pocket presence and (5) locking on to receivers from the snap.

DJ's early season inaccuracy was due in part (I believe) to a confidence problem. Kind of like a baseball pitcher who is worried about if he's got control, as opposed to a pitcher that focuses on the target and applies himself physically and psychologically to do that.
DJ has shown incredible accuracy on occasion (Clemson's first TD drive against NC State was an exhibition of two world-class accurate passes ... which also had length to them).
So confidence was problem #1 ... and that improved as the season had progressed.
The late season inaccuracy problems were largely physical. After he busted up his index finger early in the Connecticut game, OF COURSE he was destined for inaccuracy problems.

Why do you always jump in to desperately make excuses for his poor on field performance. I really am amazed that you believe what you say because you seem very intelligent. Is it really that hard for some people to accept that he isn’t nor will he ever be the 5 star QB we wanted and needed. Saying performed poorly is being astronomically kind.

To what would you attribute his performance last year against BC or, more significantly in South Bend? Dumb luck? I think not. The kid's got talent. His performance in high school and at Clemson last year shows that. I have no idea how things went 'belly up' this year but would not underestimate the combination of diminishing confidence, poor offensive line protection, play calling that didn't match his strengths, inability of wide receivers to get open and/or hold onto the ball, injuries, etc. I'm hoping at least a few of these will show improvement in the bowl game against ISU. Needless to say, it would be nice to go into next year's schedule with two QBs that can be relied upon to win games. Their different styles would require a shift in play calling depending upon who was under center but I suspect Streeter will sort that out before next season...

LAST year, DJ had two good games.
THIS year, he was one of the worst FBS QBs in the country. This is more recent and the body of work is larger than last year.
Which of the above is more likely indicative of DJ's future performance? I strongly suggest folks quit chasing the past. It represents fantasy at this point. Some 5-star QBs end up being busts. It happens. We just have to admit Dabo swung and missed this time. Tom Luginbill of ESPN was correct.
DJ is broken and there are too many things to fix.
The two games in 2020 may have gone straight to DJ's head. He became overconfident and did not dedicate himself to offseason improvement. The significant weight gain (which went straight to his lower body) was the most obvious example of this.

DJ is going to be great. We see it in the bowl game and then we will see it next year. He's got the talent. It will come together.

This year it seemed he had lead feet. Not sure if it was injury related.
I am guessing the game will start slowing down for him soon?
