Will the BCS group ever have the balls to tell Notre Dame

Jul 20, 2016, 6:09 PM

that they cannot be an exception. Why the college presidents have allowed Notre Dame to be an exception has always baffled me!

There is no longer a BCS

Only a playoff. If there one of the top 4 teams in the country they get in. If not, they don't. Where is the exception. There is no such thing as an automatic qualifier anymore. They have a contract with the ACC that involves the Orange bowl. That's it.

Well considering that they don't play a conference championship game, meaning one extra game, then I would definitely say that is an exception bUt that's just me! GO TIGERS!!!

Oklahoma didn't play a conference championship game last year and I distinctly remember playing them in the CFP. It's not a Notre Dame exception. If the committee votes them as one of the top 4 teams, I have no problem with them getting in. Just hope it doesn't rain because it's so unfair to make the Irish play in the rain.

No...Do your research. They get paid from the CFB Playoff..

Weather they make it or not.

If an 11-1 Notre Dame got in the playoff over

Jul 20, 2016, 6:20 PM

A 12-1 conference champion, I'd be pretty upset. For me, they need to be undefeated to get in or be the only team with 1 loss

You could say the same for the BIG 12 champ who only plays 12 games with no championship game.

Did he say Oklahoma? Sorry for some odd reason I thought he was talking about Notre Dame!

Because they have a larger national following than

any other school. Also, it's not like they don't play a tough schedule most years.

Why in the world does that matter, and how in the world

Jul 20, 2016, 6:36 PM

does Notre Dame being independent or not affect Clemson?

If Notre Dame had a season full of ACC games last year instead of USC, Texas, Stanford, does our win against them signify as much?

All the angst about Notre Dame not being in a conference comes across as a Butthurt Parade over their ability to not have to rely on a conference to define themselves. Who. Bloody. Cares.
