If a basketball player also plays football?

Does his scholarship count against the 85 scholarship limit for football?

If not, let’s just give up on basketball and recruit more tight ends and linebackers. They can stay in shape by fouling UNC and Duke basketball players after football season.

Pretty dumb idea since basketball starts in the middle of football season and a player could go to classes, labs, basketball practice and football practice in one day. Nothing wrong with our 85 guys we have in football and the 12 or so we have in basketball. You can't have a team and receive the ACC money that goes with it if don't have players.

for other sports on a routine basis.

If a guy is on athletic scholarship and he’s plays football at all, then his scholarship counts against football and not the other sport(s).
