If Clemson ends at 3, who do you want at 2?

Assuming LSU and OSU win out, they're probably 1 and 2. I would expect Clemson to finish 3 in the scenario.
If that's the case, would you rather have a rematch against OSU probably in Phoenix or would you prefer to face LSU which I'm guessing will go to Atlanta? I was at the OSU game in Phoenix, and it was perfect in every way, BUT I wouldn't be thrilled about facing this team at that same stadium looking for revenge. Not that I don't think we could win, but that match-up scares me. On the other hand, I'd love to make that trip again!! I'm not going to Atlanta. Still I think I'd prefer to face LSU first.

That's an interesting take. So you're assuming Georgia beats LSU in the CCG. Ok - what's interesting about that is I wonder where they'd go. Would it go to Atlanta? I guess it wouldn't matter too much since Clemson is close to Atlanta, but you'd have to think it's like a home game for Georgia. I would love to kick Georgia's butt though. THAT would be good times.

Hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. I think Coach Orgeron has done a great job with them, but we are better than anything they have faced, and I think we beat them. All the player experience and seasoned depth we now have, and all that craw fish and cholesterol they imbibe should work on them before the game ends. I predict a Clemson win for sure, no matter whom we play.

Tell me if I am wrong, but doesn't #1 get to pick which Bowl they go to?
If so is the Sugar Bowl where the National Championship game is, or could they host a SemiFinal?
I'm thinking if I'm LSU I'd want to play in New Orleans.

New Orleans is hosting the final this year. No possibility of them hosting the semi. Semi’s are predetermined to Phoenix and Atlanta

No leftie, the number one seed does not get to pick where they will play. The committee will send the number one seed to the playoff location closest to their campus. This false narrative comes up every year.

So, it doesn't matter if either LSU or OSU ends the season as #1 that team will play in Atlanta. If we are at #3 we're going to Phoenix.

Buckeye fans were at least 75% of the stadium. Turns out, one of their fans told me Arizona has the second highest number of Ohio State alumni (after Ohio, and shockingly, not South Carolina, ha).
I'd prefer to play LSU in Atlanta vs. having to play Ohio State in Arizona and then LSU in New Orleans -- huge home field advantages for both opponents.

Oh wow - yeah, that's a great point. I hadn't even considered that it would be a huge home field advantage for both opponents.
I agree AZ had a HUGE number of OSU fans. Some of them were nice, but not many

I lived in the East Valley, AZ for a while about 10 yrs ago... yes, a lot of OSU fans out there late in the season (for the same reason following...), but the entire state of Wisconsin is a ghost town between Sept-Apr because they're all living in AZ, living on discount liquor and ice cream in their trailer parks and hanging out in local pubs, rooting for anything B1G... omg, don't get me started.... Snow birds - the other white meat!

Agreed! Did not know about the OSU connection to Fiesta, but I am sure the Sugar Bowl will be a home game for LSU. Hopefully we get to knock them off prior to that one.

I was at the Fiesta Bowl too. The OSU fans were nice before the game, but nowhere to be found after it. I guess losing 31-0 was the reason! No reason to worry about playing the Buckeyes out there.

Bucknut fans did the same disappearing act at the Orange bowl. We accidentally stayed at their official hotel last time. Lots of OSU gear before the game. Everywhere. The morning after the game, none. The balls on those guys.

I'm sorry, but if CLEMSON finishes 13-0, is the defending National Champion, and has the nation's longest win streak at 28 (and 34 out of 35 losing only to the 2017 National Champion), then
CLEMSON SHOULD BE #1 - PERIOD. CLEMSON is #1 until some team steps up and manages to defeat those guys. There should not be any discussion about which team is #1. The other teams have not earned the right to be #1.
Good grief - this should not even be a discussion IMO. The CFPC needs to wake up.

Sorry, I was only talking about realistic outcomes. Clemson is not jumping an undefeated OSU or LSU. Doesn't matter though - hopefully get a chance to prove it on the field.

I'd prefer to see Ohio St. in the semifinal, LSU in the championship game. LSU's defense is pretty average, and I certainly don't believe we'd give up 46 to them like Bama. I like our odds very much against them if we played today. Ohio St is the one that worries me, simply because they dominate all the statistical categories, but like us are unproven. Playing them in the semi gives Venables and company a month to prepare. As history has proven, that month's worth of prep usually works out very good for our staff and team.

The only way bama gets back in the playoffs is at number 4 if all holds chalk. How are they gonna handle that? You know they want both in the final and not gonna pair them first round.
My bet is they would knock lsu down to 2 from 1 (assuming the committee does the right thing Tuesday), to keep them from playing each other first round.
Although personally I don't think bama gets in, probably lose to auburn anyway.

I want to beat them both. My only hope is that they drops us to 4 and we can embarrass LSU first. I'd love to send them home with a first round loss and I'm a Bama fan until they play us in the final round.

The tickets aren't sold locally and Clemson would easily sell out their allotment.
If you want to count whole city of New Orleans OUTSIDE the Superdome, LSU will have 99% on their side.

The CFP is in a predicament if the current field finishes as is (which I in no way expect). Alabama vs LSU (rematch) or Clemson vs Bama (tired).
We’d have to beat 2 teams but the real advantage in who we play first is 3.5 weeks of prep. That doesn’t play into any teams favor against us.

and both seem to be extremely difficult tests, but I think I’d rather see LSU, I know we’ve had Ohio State’s number in like all sports but they’re really good this year, I still think i’d like to see them play a great team, because they kind of need to prove it, but this Ohio State looks different then the ones in years past.
