A case can be made that the supreme court has helped level

the playing field. The players at Alabama were already getting money in brown paper bags. Schools like our beloved Clemson have never participated in this type of shadiness. However, now we can through what the supreme court has blessed as legitimate money making opportunities. Saban and his bag man might not have as many players that can be influenced as easily. A player who is on the bubble might not think so much of the paper bag route when he can get what's coming his way at several other schools now. At least he has options, depending on the enthusiasm of the fan base.

All high level college programs have cheated at some point, including Clemson. For starters... Charlie Pell.

Thank goodness Danny Ford ran a clean program, no way he cheated.

I don't think the playing field will be more level because NIL is just the first step. The tip of the iceberg. The money train for players is just getting started. Future court cases will open up the floodgates. The universities that maximize revenue opportunities for players will benefit. That may not be good for Clemson.

Another possibility: In a few years, Congress may step in and legislate rules and limitations on player compensation. However, IMO, this is very doubtful.

May be Just a passing fancy! I wouldn’t get caught up in it right now. There is so much that can go wrong ..... and it likely will.
