That artificial turf behind home plate in Clemson has got to go. It’s always dirty looking and low rent … the orange seats are burnt out and dingy looking. We need a facelift, bad!
The field and stands in Columbia, at least on tv, looked nice. Even if they were garnet and black.
That being said, let’s get win #2 today!

I agree. I know Clemson has put some money back into DKS, and added more seating which is good. I would like to see them do some aesthetic improvements. I would cost comparatively a small amount of money to improve DKS to the level of Death Valley. Before anyone says anything.. I understand baseball is not a revenue generating sport. However it is far more successful than basketball and we keep throwing millions at that program hoping it will generate a pulse in the next 50 years.

Founders Park is a very nice baseball stadium.
I agree. DKS could use some improvements.

I love DK but the seats need to go. They look horrible. Hope they are full tomorrow so no one will notice. I didn’t think the turf behind the plate last night looked much better than ours. That seems like a simple paint job. Must be a little more complex or I’m sure they would have done it already.

Also, the color scheme…I know that green is old school baseball, but DKS looks like something between the University of Miami and a 1960’s miniature golf course. Let’s bring out some purple.

Need some type of huge tarp to keep them covered in the off season. I believe they will all start looking pretty bad fairly quick sitting in the direct sun. Can’t imagine that garnet will look to well but they may never let theirs get to where ours are currently.

Agreed. Never cared for the green either and they used it in the softball stadium too. They should have used a dark purple in the wall padding surrounding the field and behind home plate.

The orange seats and the turf look ghetto.
They don’t have to put a ton of money into updating and painting, but they don’t do it for some reason.
And while I’m at it, I’ve had better hot dogs at the 7-11.

If baseball is a facility arms race like football then we’re in trouble. Living in Mississippi and seeing what Ole Miss and Mississippi State have built makes DKS look like a JUCO facility. Maybe it’s not as critical in a sport where the recruiting footprint is smaller, I hope so anyway.
