Do ya'll not remember the issue with hitting the hole hard? He didn't get it totally worked out until senior year. He was awesome. He was a GREAT back. But as a RB he was probably not even top-5 in our history. Andre Ellington was definitely a better pure RB. Terry Allen obviously was too.

He was absolutely the best returner I've ever seen. He was the best open field guy I've ever seen. And his effort at RB against GT in the 2009 ACCCG was one of the best (if not THE best) single game Clemson RB performances ever.

But you guys are forgetting his teammate James Davis. If I could only have one of the two, in most situations I take Thunder over lightning.

He would be great with all of the screen passes though. He was at a hiver level than Davis, who was good. I would say Davis would the level of Jaron Brown, who was good of course, and Spiller is like Sammy or Nuk.

James is up there with the greats. Also, had the Cleveland Browns not pulled injury shenanigans with Davis, he could have had a significant NFL career.

A Travis Zachary would be like a Jaron Brown. Solid workman like but not stellar.

Cliff Austin is second with Flowers on his heels. CJ the best all purpose and returner with AE right on his heels as an all purpose back.

I remember. Not to discount other RBs over the years but Allen, Davis, CJ, and Etienne are my favorites.

Imagine terry Allen’s NFL career without the knee injuries. And Ronald Williams is a criminally overlooked back that suffered some unfortunate injuries.
