QB controversy

I told them they were wasting their breath. Dabo is loyal to a fault the size of the Grand Canyon when it comes to playing time for upperclassmen. If he was going to pick Stoudt over Watson, there was no way Johnson was going to play. Dabo and staff dug in after the game by saying how entrenched Cooper was at #2 on the depth chart. Their words have basically ensured that Cooper is the man in two weeks if Bryant can't go. This is terrible news for the present and future. The actions of the coaching staff have basically guaranteed Johnson will transfer with Lawrence coming in. If the situation had been handled differently Clemson would have won last night and had more QB depth next year. I wouldn't trade Dabo for any coach in America and I realize there is no perfect coach. I know there are things that you will never agree with them on, but as a fan you have to live with. There are two things for me. One, playing less talented upperclassmen simple because they've been in the program longer. Two, giving scholarships to athletes simply because their parents played at Clemson or some personal connection to Dabo. Having gotten that off my chest, I still am all in with Dabo and think he is the best coach to guide the program into the future.

I was thinking the same thing except for different reason

In the first half of that game Richt didn't utilize Gurley- he only had a handful of carries. At least in the second half they ran the ball and it was clearly the difference in the game. Where was our run game? Etienne and Feaster had 5 carries in the first half.

Part of the reason they didn't have any more carries in the first half was that we just didn't have the ball. Our TD's in the first half were a three-play drive and a fumble recovery. Seemed like our defense stayed on the field all night (especially in the second quarter), and that caught up with us at the end.
