i was about six rows up behind the basket on Collins foul...

Feb 10, 2022, 11:06 PM

just to the left of the play with the inside view. Collins definitely looked frustrated from the pick pocket and it looked to me like he sprinted hard to get inside the shooter for a swipe and the ball as the Duke player was going to take it up. He could not make up the steps behind and thus an unintended undercut. Bad outcome and bad look from a perfect storm. I did not see Coach K raise any hell , i guess i was looking at the Duke guy who pretty much jumped up fairly quickly. It was then that i saw all the Duke assistant coaches standing at the half court line raising hell and pointing fingers, taunting and challenging our coaches and players. For whatever wrong there was in our foul, I did not like the Duke assistants raising all that hell. That could have had a really bad ending with a bench clearing brawl. Just my two cents...

It didn't play out like that on TV. Brad or any team would have done the same thing. Collins and coach k made me proud. Coach, when he hugged Collins, told him he understoud it wasn't intentional... At least that's what I could read, reading lips. Perhaps someone at courtside heard the exchange.

Thank you for the logical, fact based response. That was Bush League by Coach K and I wish we had a coach who would defend our court.

It a[[eared to be a dirty play by D. Collins to me. Collins was frustrated from losing possession of the ball--and maybe he was fouled then==but he #### sure made an unsportsmanlike play on Moore. I was surprised that Cosh K was not angry. He needs Moore for the remainder of this season.
CBB and Collins did the admirable thing in apologizing. We lost to a much better team and most of the game was w/o 2 regular starters.

Yeah I still don’t see how Collins intended to do that as a dirty play

As many are saying. He got crushed into the goal himself.

...that was as flagrant as it gets. No excuse for what Collins did. Can't believe anyone is trying to explain it as anything other.

Amen; you are absolutely correct. If the league might take action to suspend D. Collins for a game, Clemson should do it first. Some on this site are trying to justify an obvious flagrant foul that could have resulted in a very harmful injury to the target and the aggressor. It was a dirty play by a frustrated opponent. Collins lost his head in that incident.

I agree completely with that assessment. Collins was trying to hustle back and prevent a basket after his turnover and couldn’t get there and lost control. Letting him go would have been the smarter play but he must have thought he could get there. Nothing malicious but very dangerous - just not thinking and getting out of control. On TV we didn’t see the Duke assistants doing anything controversial and the announcers actually were saying they kept their players from going past half court. I’m sure if the situation were reversed our guys would have been up raising Cain too. The ejection was warranted and everyone moved on as they should have.
