Clemson players say "we wanted Bama"

We just spoke with defensive end Clelin Ferrell and linebacker Kendall Joseph, and they both said that the Tigers wanted to play Bama at some point in the playoffs. They both said Clemson wants to be known as the best program in the country, and they would have to play Bama to settle it.
Joseph also said this is just the beginning. He said "we are living in a 30 for 30. There will be a show about this one day"

realized the opportunity having Bama in the first round would provide. Dabo can complete his ascension to his rightful throne and Clemson can finally be recognized as the premiere programs Dabo set out to build.
Whuppin' up on four SEC teams in one season won't damage our SOS that much.

I like the Bama draw too. The only concern I have is that it could be such a physical game that whoever comes out of it could be at a big disadvantage in Atlanta. Hopefully we get a BIG or Pac 12 crew who believe in calling targeting a little tighter than the crew did last year.

Not if your team is playing 2nd and 3rd string in the 3rd quarter. Go Tigers!!!!

We probably have an advantage with depth rotation, but most of our first stringers were still in the last two games with Bama when the clock ran out, and I just don't see it being any different on this one. I'll be overwhelmed with delight if we have them beat so badly late in the game that we have the luxury of playing mostly 2nd & 3rd string. But what the heck, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

analysis.
That being said, with Bama's drop off at o-line I expect our defense to torture Hurts all night.

They were just nominated as finalists for the Joe Moore award (best offensive line unit in the country) and we weren't even though we rotate 9 players throughout close games so they have not dropped off at those positions.

It's a talented unit but they are missing Cam Robinson from last year and obviously Kiffin as well.

Think that could be attributed to a few things:
1) They rely much more heavily on the run than we do 2) Their competition was down a lot this year, makes it easier to run on less talented D-lines 3) They have the "Bama" name tied to them so of course they'll be up for the award
Now, those items being said, they certainly still have a lot of talent on the line, as they do every year, but there is certainly a drop off when you lose a guy like Cam Robinson, etc. there will almost always be a drop off.
Looking at some stats, through 12 games both Clemson and Bama had given up 22 sacks. Bama attempted 276 passes while we attempted 433.

If they don't then they don't deserve a shot at the trophy. Why dream halfazs?

It would be somewhat hollow if we didn't play Bama

Kind of like winning an NCAA Women's BBall championship without playing UConn in the tournament, I would think.
