I think the SEC should bring in CU and GT....

Makes the most sense to me but I am a purist. I don't give a rat about TaMU or Missouri. I understand the geographical footprint reasons but I think that's vastly overrated. CU people are our folks, older GT fans are too.
I am going up to the Mizzou game in September and maybe that will change my mind.

bring into the SEC - that's why they expand into new TV markets, for example. Clemson and GT won't do anything for that.
Sure, from a rivalry point of view I agree that it would be great but I don't expect to see it.

Although when you consider many Clemson alumn move out of the state and dirtpeckers stay with their jobs at the local gas station, maybe not? :-D

I think the ACC should bring in ND and PSU and call it a day.
With the addition of those teams the ACC would vault to equal footing as SEC and Big10. We should present ourselves as a conference in a position of power.
Not as though we are a conference consisted of disorganized teams looking to bail for a few bucks more...

the fact that GT left in a huff before ( yeah most alive then are dead now) would eliminate them from consideration. that and their pathetic level of fan interest in football

Agree Cold Gin Dawg. Some of the best games I ever

attended were Clemson-UGA games between 1979-1991. Hard hitting, passionate, and exciting.
Of course my growing up on the Carolina side of the Savannah River and with Savannah and Augusta just 1 hour away in either direction I always loved this rivalry.
I now miss it and would love for us to be in the SEC and play you guys and USuC as conference rivals.
Peace.

They've been a little hot as of lately, but not a big-time prgram in my opinion.
I didn't get that move other than MO TV Market.

Not >40, but don't understand leaving conference for one half way across country for games against teams we have zero historical rivalry with or anything regionally in common with.

Fair enough - the evolution that needs to occur is our team needs to show up when its on the national stage whether its in ATL or MIA...quite flopping when the lights are on.
Regarding the "homerism" ... as proud of the Tigers as I am - Tigernation needs to worry about winning first whatever conference they are in. Period.

Agree with we need to be a 10-11 win team no matter where we are. But just think how far bc syr and mia are away do you plan on going to those be honest and we're you going to drive?

BC & MIA offer "destinations" vs. K-state, Iowa St. etc. Re: Syracuse, they have an agreement to play "home" games in NYC due to alumni there - that's not too shabby. But no I would not drive, but if/when i go at least they are cool places.

It's matchups, not markets, that have made the SEC strong. How many of the top US media markets are in the SEC? There are at least three already in the ACC with Boston, Miami and UMd's Baltimore/Washington DC market. How's that helped us? Alabama is a mostly rural state without a major media market but the SEC has two teams there. Yet, look at how many people watch the Iron Bowl. It's one of the biggest games of the college football season. How about Georgia and Florida? Gainesville and Athens aren't population centers but people all over the country watch the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party every year. The matchups, the strong regional rivalries, those matter way more than the markets a conference is in. Extreme distance doesn't make for good rivals. Listening to your brother-in-law/cousin/co-worker who went to "State U" trash-talk every day does.
