I think the proper way to look at the recruiting policy:

To give a verbal commit can mean different things for different people. A lot of players want to commit and do very early and it basically just means that is who their favorite is. Under Bowden players would commit and then visit other schools. Sometimes they would switch and sometimes they would not. That staff had a definition of verbal commit similar to the players.
Dabo has made it clear that his policy of commit means theoretically signed with no waivering (would sign an LOI today if possible). Dabo is fine waiting longer on a commitment if a recruit is not 100% sure, and tells the players that. Some staffs encourage verbal commitment before being 100% sure - that is their choice. It is not up to Dabo to know the policy of each individual school in terms of "commit." If another school employs a similar policy as Dabo's, then the recruit will not visit Clemson when invited and he will have his offer removed from said school if he does.
So with that said, this is my interpretation of how this would work - if a player is committed and visits another school he would be told by the staff that they are decommitting from him and his spot in the signing class is no longer reserved and is up for grabs. If this player is a 2* or 3* player and a 5* (the staff isn't looking at stars, but you get the idea) wants to commit at that position, then the 2* or 3* loses his roster spot. If the player decommitting is a 5*, the staff may considering oversigning or not pursuing as many other recruits with the hope of still landing the 5*.
I have the utmost respect for Dabo and have no doubts the staff is doing things in the proper way.

Maybe I am off, but I look at it this way. If you are a big fish, ala QB Watson kid, we expect your committment to stick, you to remain loyal, etc., however we understand that you are going to keep enjoying recruiting process.
If you are a 2 or 3 star kid that we offer, your committment is contingent on the understanding that there are other "replacements" that can fill your spot. Our willingness to lock up your spot and accept your committment is based our your understanding that we expect your loyalty.
Paraphrase: We like you, we want you, but you are replaceable. We are taking a chance signing you so early, so repay the favor by shutting it down in terms of visits.
Blue Chippers are understandably given more wiggle room, and with the exception of those that are vocally waivering and bashing the program or "silently" committing to every school they visit, they are allowed to take visits, complete recruiting process, make sure they made right choice.
Am I off on this?

he supposed to be at Clemson. There is a difference. It also be taken into account that is "reported" on other sites that Dabo and this staff fully explain this commitment stance. They do everything to talk these young men out of committing until they are %100 sure.

Too many on here sound like politicians when it comes to this issue. I don't care which philosophy Dabo uses as far as commitments, but the rules should apply both ways. If you go back and read most of the posts trying to justify it's ok for us to take visits from commitments while not allowing our commitments to visit elsewhere, it reminds me of Bill Clinton's "It depends on what your meaning of the word is is."

Why?

If Clemson's policy is do NOT commit unless you are 100% committed and UGA's policy is to push a commitment whether 100% or not why should we honor that commitment? By definition that commitment is not held to the same standard by UGA so it need not be by Clemson.
