The ACC is only going to get 4 or 5 teams in the Tournament

and Duke is one of those teams which means, there are 10 or 12 teams realistically vying for those 3 or 4 spots. If Clemson is going to be one of those teams, they need to go on a 6 or 8 game winning streak in order to put themselves in a position to make it to the NCAA Tournament.
Based on the BC debacle, I just don't see it happening. The team is just entirely too inconsistent from one half to the next if not from one minute to the next.

Considering how down the ACC is this year, this might be our best chance to snag an ACC tournament title. I know. I know. Stop laughing. Just saying that's our only chance of the NCAA at this point, and with Brad's track record of performances picking up when his seat is hottest and/or vulnerable, who knows?

Regardless of us getting invited - he should go. This is how we have gotten 12 years already. Once every few years even a blind squirrel finds an acorn.

I think it just depends on what Neff wants from bball.

making the NCAAT at Clemson is a big deal and should be celebrated, but if you are looking to actually compete for titles then investments need to be made and that starts with a new coach and mentality.
Having said that, if BB makes the NCAAT then he deserves to keep his job. The challenge from there is on Neff to say..my expectation is nothing less than this or we'll just do the same thing over and over again.

If you want to really make a difference say he makes the tourney and you still part ways because fans are tired of the same results year in and year out and there is absolutely no excitement around basketball right now from the men or the women sides.I do not see them letting him go regardless. Do not see buying out the remainder of his contract and then having to possibly shell out more for a replacement.

He renegotiated his contract for an extension but it changed buyout terms. It will never cost us less to buy than it will before the the 22-23 contract year begins. I’m actually surprised there wasn’t more coverage of the buyout change on this site - it was very unusual.

Very little chance we make the tournament.
Those early season out of conference losses to fellow mediocre teams are killers.
The ACC is down so there isn't much chance for a marquee win.
and we are losing to other crappy ACC teams.

Why keep him if he makes the NCAA tournament?

There’s no need to continue the cycle. . .he’s already proven he can’t produce consistently good teams.
Now, finish with 20+ wins, win the ACC tournament, make the NCAA tournament, and win a game or two in the tournament. . .then I’ll consider giving him one more season.

Pigs would have to fly around Littlejohn for us to make the tournament.
