We spend just as much labor in the US trying to make people WANT something, as we do in actually making what they actually want. Stonks, bitcoin, stocks, whatever you "have" is only worth how much someone else wants it.

Look at BTC today, or pick a stock. Values (wealth) change daily, hourly, by the second, based on how much people want it. When BTC gets pummelled, like China making it illegal for example (today), billions in "wealth" disappears.

Look at the phenomena of NFT's. All that is is a means to identify the originality or authenticity of a digital "asset". Could it even BE an asset, or have any value BUT FOR being able to uniquely identify it? No. It's a mental condition really. Take the meme pic below, we've all seen it. It's like that old scheme, the International Star Registry. People thought it was cool to have stars named after themselves. There are more stars than people, and you will never go there, or even see it without a telescope, BUT, people PAID some company, to enter your name in some registry THEY CREATED, for the star. Then shazam, the thing is arbitrarily named after you and that has some value? No it doesn't. Some company says it is named after you and you think it is, but OFFICIALLY it is named something else.

Well, seems the kid, Chloe Clem, (now 10yo) her mom is selling the original picture as a NFT, and someone will end up paying thousands for it. Probably will send her to college. They won't even GET the original digital image, but a token saying they have it. And to make it even better, the NFT is purchased through a cryptocurrency, which itself has no intrinsic value.

It's lunacy.......Tulips on crack these days.
